Paco and Jooki’s Family Reunion Video

Gina and Nathan met at the dog shelter in Hong Kong while caring for Paco (pictured) and Jooki - two senior rescue dogs who were best friends and had never had a proper home. Gina and Nathan fell in love and decided to adopt these two lucky dogs. When they got married, Paco and Jooki joined them at the altar.

When the couple had to move to Australia in 2019, they had no idea it would take two whole years to bring their fur babies out to live with them. Gina asked Annabel to create a video of the family reunion. It took place at the pet collection depot at the airport. When Gina went to open Paco’s cage Paco slipped out and ran off into the darkness. Everyone was terrified he’d reach the freeway, but after 30 minutes of searching, Paco came back.

The dogs spent one week at their new home lapping up the love and attention and safety. Tragically they discovered Jooki had advanced cancer only last week and he had to be put down. Although the family is devastated, they’re so happy they got to finally provide a warm and safe home for these dogs, even if only for a short time.

Gina said she learned so much from Jooki and adopting a senior dog has changed her life. The family are passionate about senior dog rescue and will adopt another mature friend for Paco when they are ready.
